Clausen, Vaill win USA 15k Race Walk titles

Curt Clausen and Teresa Vaill were the men's and women's winners respectively Sunday at the 2004 USA 15 km Race Walk Championships in Lincoln, Rhode Island.

A two-time Olympian and the winner of the 2004 U.S. Olympic 50 km Race Walk Trials, Clausen won the men's race by finishing in 1 hour, 4 minutes, 40 seconds. John Nunn was the runner-up in 1:06:08, with Dave McGovern third in 1:10:41 and Theron Kissinger fourth in 1:11:02.

Two-time U.S. 10 km champion Teresa Vaill won the women's race in 1:10:43, with three-time Olympian Michelle Rohl finishing as the runner-up in 1:12:32. Bobbi Chapman was third in 1:14:39, with Marcia Gutsche Rutledge fourth in 1:24:29.
