Rimas Jakelaitis,51,Brooklyn,NY (Lithuania)
We are happy to welcome back Rimas, one of the world's great superlong distance runners. In 2000, Rimas astounded everyone with a world record of 16 days 00 hours in the 1300 miler, taking over 15 hours off the record as well as gaining the 2000 km world best. In 2001 he won the Ten Day race, running 901 miles for ten days,the second best total in history. In the process he passed 600 miles for six days,becoming only the 12th person alltime to ever do it. In 1999 he won the Six-day race with 517 miles. Rimas won the Ten Day in 2004 for the fourth time with 653 miles. He holds the Lithuanian record for 100 km(7:20)and has run the marathon in 2:35. He even ran the 3100 miler in 2002, completing the distance in 50 days 2 hours. He has also won several shorter ultras in the New York area.
Trishul Cherns,49, Middle Village,NY (Canada)
Canada's premier multiday specialist, and one of the world's most prolific runners, Trishul returns for another multiday event.. He has completed 32 multiday events. In 1999 he finished third in the 3100 miler in 50 days,three hours during the hottest summer in New York in 100 years. He holds 112 Canadian national records for various distance including 1000 miles(13 days,7 hours) 1000 km(7 days,14 hours) and 48 hours(221+ miles). He has done 538 miles for six days and 130 miles for 24 hours. he has a ten day best of 605 miles.He has run over 160 ultras since 1978, totalling over 33,000 racing miles. He lives with his wife Kaaren in Middle Village, and works as a physiotherapist.
Luis Rios,58, Brooklyn, NY USA
In 2004 Luis ran 646 miles in the 700 mile race,the farthest he has gone in a multiday event. A fixture at all shorter ultras in the New York area, Luis has had a long and prolific running journey. He has completed over 200 ultras, including a best at 24 hours-140 miles, and several fast 100 milers to his credit. He has done ten multiday events, with a best of 421 miles for six days. He ran 525 miles in the Ten Day race in 2001 as well as in 2003. Last year he ran 480 miles in the Ten day,but was hampered by a sore back.
Barney McBryde,41, Auckland, New Zealand
Barney has run 34 ultras, including 373 miles for six days(2004) and 180 km(111 miles) for 24 hours.This will be his first attempt at ten days
Tibor Malits,34, Szekesfehervar, Hungary
A veteran of 11 multidays and 45 ultras, Tibor has best of 564 miles in the Ten Day, and completed the 700 miler in 11 days 13 hours, both in 2001.
Vladimir Balatsky, 34, Graz, Austria (Ukraine)
Vladimir has run four ultras in seven years of running, including 336 miles for six days in the 2005 race, which was a good multiday baptism.
Borys Nikolayev,46,Donetsk, Ukraine
Boris has been running for 15 years, and has completed five ultras, including six days last year with 296 miles.
Dennis Kranz,59, Bellvedere,Ill USA
Dennis has run over 25 ultras ultras. Bests include 280 miles for six days (2001),142 miles for 48 hours and 195 miles for three days.
Dragan Stojanovich,34, Belgrade, Serbia-Montenegro
Dragan has run six ultras in six years of running. He has completed 270 miles for six days.This will be his first attempt at ten days.
Mario Komak,31, Bratislava,Slovakia
Mario has completed three ultras, with a best of 264 miles for six days.
Pavol Saraz,30,Bratislava, Slovakia
In six years of running, Pavol has completed seven ultras and three multidays.He finished second in the Ten day with 540 miles last year. He has run 321 miles for six days and 231 miles in four days. This will be his first attempt at ten days.
Ten Day Women
Pratishruti Khisamoutdinova,62, Smolensk,Russia
Pratishrutiran ran 1090 miles to lead the women in the 1300 mile race in 2003. In 2001 she finished the 1000 mile race in 16 days 01 hours, becoming the oldest finisher of that event at that time. Pratishruti reached 1015 miles in the 2002 1300 mile race in her first attempt at the distance. Pratishruti has run 20 ultras in the last few years, including 382 miles for six days, as well as 872 miles in the 1000 mile race in 2000. She has a best of 572 miles for ten days. She was a former professor of physical culture at Smolensk Institute, and was also a champion speed skater in earlier years.
Nataliya Hlushchuk,30, Kiev, Ukraine
Nataliya surprised many with a win for the women in the 2005 Ten day race, garnering 515 miles. She has run four ultras in ten years of running.
Sarah Barnett,30, Melbourne, Australia
Sarah has completed four ultras, including 338 miles for six days, and 475 miles in ten days.
Ingrid Kirschner,40, Munich,Germany
In nine years of running, Ingrid has completed five ultras and two multidays, with a best of 430 miles for ten days.
Karnayati Morison,58,Ottawa,Ont. Canada
Karnayati has run 11 ultras in 30 years of running.Her three multidays include 324 miles for six days, and 508 miles in the 700 mile race.
Kushali Tarantsova,38, Kiev, Ukraine
Kushali has been running for twelve years. She has run two multidays, with a best of 413 miles in ten days, and 294 miles for six days.
Ivana Nemcova, 24, Prague, Czech Republic
Ivana has finished two multidays and five ultras in four years of running. She has done 265 miles for six days and 402 km(249.7 miles)in four days.
Sylva Stradalova,26, Zlin, Czech Republic
Sylvia has run one multiday in five years of running.She competed the Six day last year with 258 miles.
Stela Doni,32,Schlieren, Switzerland(Ukraine)
Stela will be running her first Ten Day race. She has done four ultras and one multiday in ten years of running.She ran 253 miles in the Six day race last year.

Six Day MenJohn Geesler,47, St. Johnsville, NY USA
John has completed over 85 ultras, including an American record 248 miles for 48 hours and an age-group record 157+ miles for 24 hours.Last year he ran 300 miles in 72 hours in the Across the Years event in Arizona. John has also won the US National Championship for 24 hours.and has run under 15 hours for 100 miles.
Glen Turner, 46, Boulder,Colorado, USA
Glen has completed over 50 ultras in 32 years of running.His bests include 300km(186 miles) for 48 hours and 130.8 miles for 24 hours.This will be his six day coming out party.
Mark Dorion,46, El Paso,TX USA
Last year Mark completed 318 miles in the Six day. Mark has been running 35 years, completing over 150 ultras. Bests include 131 miles for 24 hours, 5:55 for 50 miles, 7:36 for 100 km, and 2:27 for the marathon. He has twice attempted the Barkley Marathon in Tennesee, the toughest 100 miler in the world.
Bob Oberkehr,51,Northvale, NJ USA
Last year Bob reached 384 miles in his multiday debut.He has run 32 ultras in 30 years of running. His best 24 hours was 119 miles(2003).
Chanakhya Jakovic,52,Jamaica, NY (UK)
In 33 years of running, Chanakhya has completed over 50 ultras, including 21 multidays. His bests are 308 miles for six days, and 653 miles in the 1000 mile race(2003)
Mike Brooks,60, Danville, Maine USA
Mike has run three multidays in 11 years of running.Bests include 180+ miles for 72 hours, the difficult Badwater Mohave Desert run-135 miles in 46 hours, and 153 miles in 48 hours. Mike is running to raise money for critically ill children.
Roman Dzierlatka,49,Bristol,CT USA
Roman has completed over 40 ultras, including four multidays in his 30 years of running. In 2004 he ran 269 miles for six days.
Michal Petricek,41, Brno, Czech Republic
Michal has completed 424 miles in the Ten day and 277 miles for six days in four years of running ultras.
Manfred Edinger,44, Vienna, Austria
Manfred has run 15 ultras in 10 years of running.He will be running six days for the first time.

Amiya will be trying his first multiday in eight years of running and five ultras.

This will be Sergey's first multiday after 12 years of running and two ultras.
Six Day WomenDipali Cunningham,47, Melbourne, Australia
Dipali is one of the world's best women ultra-distance runners. She has won 17 of the 20 multiday events she has entered since 1992, including four overall victories. In the spring of 2001 she set a new women's world record on the road for six days with 510 miles, defeating all the men in that race. In 2001 she ran 700 miles in 9 days 11 hours, the third fastest all-time for women. She has completed the 700 mile race eight times. In 1998 she set a women's world best on the road for six-days with 504 miles, despite heavy rains at Wards Island Park. In 1999 she won the 700 mile race overall in 10 days, 21 hours. She is ranked third in the world for 700 miles, and third for 1000 miles, having dominated the women's 1000 mile race in 1997 in 13 days, 20 hours. She has won all eight Six-Day titles in our spring-time event. In 2004,Dipali set a new women's age group 45-49 world best for six days with 479 miles.Later iin the fall, she won the 700 mile race overall, her eighth victory in that event.
Kaneenika Janakova,36,Bratislava,Slovakia
In eleven years of running, Kaneenika has completed six multidays and 12 ultras. Her bests include 407 miles for six days, 700 miles in 10 days, 19 hours, and 1000 miles in 15 days, 19 hours. All three marks are Slovakian national records.
Friederike Makowka,46, Geneva,Switerland
In 2004r Friederike finished third in the Ten Day with 481 miles.Last year she ran 393 miles in the Six day. In 2003 she ran 340 miles for six days. She has run four multidays in ten years of running.
Harita Davies,31, Christchurch, New Zealand
Harita finished in third place in 2000 with 337 miles in the Six day. She has run six ultras in 10 years of running.
Tatyana Pekhovych, 52, Donetsk, Ukraine
This will be the second multiday race for Tatyana, who has three ultras to her credit in seven years of running.She has done 242 miles for six days.
Rageshri Muzychenko,36, Kiev, Ukraine
Rageshri ran 205 miles in her multiday debut last year.
Sophie Butler,37,Auckland, New Zealand
Sophie has completed five ultras in 20 years of running. This is her first multiday.
Jackie Broderick,54, SanDiego,CA USA
Jackie makes her multiday debut after 20 years of running. On May 6, she finishes the race and joins a new age group!
Shishaldin Hanlen,25, Brooklyn,NY USA
After four years of running, Shishaldin will attempt her first multiday and second ultra.
Uljana Jevdorimova,50,Kerava,Finland
Uljana will be running her first multiday after five years of running.
Zuzana Tobolkova,25,Pardubice, Czech Republic
This will be Zuzana's first multiday after eight years of running.
Harieta Field,61, Christchurch, New Zealand
âEta', as she is affectionately known,will be on the other side of the counter, running her first multiday, after helping out for years as a great volunteer. She has been dabbling in running for nine years.
Tetyana Pasteznak,43,Donetsk, Ukraine
Tetyana will be starting her first multiday after eight years of running and one other ultra.
