"40 PBs were recorded and 27 men and 1 woman qualified for "Boston at the fast-paced Sri Chinmoy Inspiration Marathon, held February 1 at Hampton Beach, NH.
All the ingredients were there for a great racing day. The course looped through 12 miles of scenic New England coastline and it was fast and flat, a favorite Sri Chinmoy race ingredient. Running gear was kept to a minimum, as the winter sun and lack of wind kept temperatures a balmy 35 degrees.
Among the runners traveling to the marathon was the Team's leader, Sri Chinmoy, in his first marathon of the year. He brought with him a number of Canadian and American Team racers.
It was the second annual running of the mid-winter marathon, whose name - Inspiration Marathon - reflects its reason for existing: to inspire marathoners to keep training during the cold winter months."
