About the author:
Rupantar has been the race director of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team since 1985, having been asked by Sri Chinmoy to serve in that capacity. As well as working on the big races the US Marathon Team organise each year - the 3100 Mile Race and the Six and 10 Day Race - he also spends a considerable amount of time archiving the Marathon Team's 40 year history on this website.
A 1.24 loop thru Magnuson Park on lakeside, grassy hills, pavement, gravel, through the woods and finally cutting thru a 8' blackberry patch we cut specially for this run (with Park approval!). A perfect 72 degree, sunny and breezy day. 11 solid runners toed the line and all completed the 7 hour run with the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team's Rupasi Young taking first place overall.
Runners and volunteers alike are looking forward to the next run...still in the planning stages. Stay tuned!
