Stuart Campbell/Luke Dillon win Quiksilver Grommets UK
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 05 July 2004: - - Stuart Campbell (Woolacombe) won the Under 14 division in the Quiksilver Grommet Series at Fistral Beach; defeating Aiden Wright (Newquay), Ben Sowter (Portreath) and Marcus Lascelles (St Agnes). In the Under 10 division in one of his first surfing competitions, Luke Dillon (Newquay) defeated Oliver Stone, Michael Sutton (Newquay) and Ben Jackson.
The best Grommet (under 14 & under 10) surfers in the UK competed over the weekend for this prestigious title and chance to surf in the European Quiksilver Grommet Championships in France later in the year.
âThe event provides an opportunity for the future surf stars to compete at the highest level for their age group. Many of the young surfers competed for the first time and I'm sure all enjoyed the experience," commented Karen Walton National Director of the BSA.
The British Surfing Association would like to thank Quiksilver for the continued support of the BSA and junior surfing in the UK by sponsoring this event.
